ECU REMAP???

Post by nipper76 »

hiya, everyone seems to say that getting your ecu remapped is very much worth it.
but it costs so much.....
you can buy these things to connect to your car that re-map it, but dosnt permanetly affect your ecu after you take it out.
wouldnt it be cheaper to buy the kit yourself and D.I.Y it??
has anyone done this?? and is it easy??
i suppose once you do your own you can get your money back by doing others cheap.
whats your views??

This has been answered many times. The cheap things you see don't affect the map at all, they just trick the ECU into over-fuelling or something, which is inefficient and very bad for things in the long run.
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
