That Pesky D9 Air Bag Light
I know much has been said on here before and it's *really* common but all I normally do is give all the connections under the seat a good wiggle and it normally goes away.
Just recently though my fiddlings are not working and the Air Bag light is on most days.
I should know here, but is there really a fix for this?

light will stay on permenatly as the instrument panel looks for an earth from the ecu to put the light out if there is no fault, if there is no earth, i.e. the light stays on permenatly, just imagine if there was a wiring fault to the airbag ecu, you wouldnt know there was a fault otherwise

Ground the pin out on the connector, simply bridge the ECU's Earth to the switching wirejameslxdt wrote:light will stay on permenatly as the instrument panel looks for an earth from the ecu to put the light out if there is no fault, if there is no earth, i.e. the light stays on permenatly, just imagine if there was a wiring fault to the airbag ecu, you wouldnt know there was a fault otherwise

and blowup the instrument panel and run the risk of blowing over £1,000s of airbags and seat belt pretensioners
alot safer and easier to just take the bulb out dont you think

How if all you are doing is unplugging the Airbag ECU and then bridging the switched wire for the instrument cluster to stop it igniting??jameslxdt wrote:and blowup the instrument panel and run the risk of blowing over £1,000s of airbags and seat belt pretensioners
