Hi folks,
picked up my 2.2SRi this afternoon, its going back to the dealer next week to get the cambelt and pulleys changed, but I've got a couple of issues already that I didn't know of when £3500 left my bank account earlier today.
Hope you can help.
1. Minor problem - front drivers side fog lamp not working. How do I get at the bulb?
2. Major problem - c/locking not operative on passenger front door, infact unless the door is locked by hand using the key in the door lock, you cannot get the central locking to work. If passenger door is then locked, hitting the button on the remote only opens the 3 other doors, to unlock the passenger door I have to get in the car and open by releasing the lock button on the door card! Then when you go to lock the car the door has to be locked as I mentioned earlier otherwise the car will not lock any doors! Also the red door lights will not work if I open the passenger door, however they all light up (all 4) if I open any other door!
Any body had this c/locking problem?

Not sure how you get at the fog light bulb as I've never had to change one before. Only used them twice in 2 years of ownership.
As for the central locking it sounds like the locking solenoid for the passenger does is either faulty, sticking or there is a wiring fault (usually where the wires pass through from the door into themain body of the car). The way you describe the doors operating is normal, the car will lock with the button then immediately unlock if one of the solenoids is stuck/broken. If you've just bought it then you should be able to get it sorted under warranty (assuming you got it from a dealer).

yes you are right I did buy it from a dealer and I guess from what you've said my best course of action is to give it back to them to sort out - I'll see what can be done when I get them to change the timing belt (which was part of the original deal)
