Yep, Haynes says the one on the dash is the sunshine sensor on cars with climate. I think the daylight sensor's up by the rain one too, I don't think I want a lump of black tape on the outside of my window... It's probably a light sensitive thermistor thingamygig, all I need to do is take it out and measure... Yeah, like I'm going to mess with it. My girlfriend's sister was done driving between the supermarket and the petrol station next door and it's an easy to forget. I modified a mate's Pussat so his lights come on with the ignition but when I looked in the '8 the system was a little more complex so seeing this on the '9 I thought there might be an easier way.

My handbook's in Italian...

Urgh. Why didn't you just point him at the Volvo ebay page? :D
