BSI on D8's? Wiper fault
Right... do the D8's have this BSI unitI keep reading about?
My 2.1TD ('97) has an annoying wiperfault I cant trace. - Normal wipe works, no Intermittant or Fast wipe.
Relay is fine (replaced for new), stalk seems to be ok as I tried another known working unit to no avail and im ruling out the motor as normal wipe works.
Any ideas peeps?

check the wiring diagram in the haynes. think you may find it's the motor broken though as i think it does all the shiz internally like stopping at the end of a single wipe, doing intermittent wipe, etc
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

There's usually tracks in the motor and brushes on the lid, when the supply is turned off or on single wipe there's one supplying 12 volts to the motor all the way round 'til it gets to park, where another track gives the phase an earth which stops it spinning - unearthed wipers often don't park, they go slower but have usually have enough momentum to carry on up the screen and off we go again.mjb wrote:check the wiring diagram in the haynes. think you may find it's the motor broken though as i think it does all the shiz internally like stopping at the end of a single wipe, doing intermittent wipe, etc
I notice my rain sensing wipers can switch between intermittant, slow and fast so I'd reckon the relay/control box would be the best place to look. Hopefully the connector's come loose...
