Silly Question time...

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Silly Question time...

Post by TehAgent »

I had my dash board out today, because i have the intermittent Speed-o fault, so after replacing the speed sensor on the gearbox with no luck, i checked for a dry joint on the dash (still no luck there so putting it down to a faulty sender unit)

Whilst i had the dash out, i checked to see what bulbs i didn't have, but found one that i did have that doesn't seem to do anything, and isn't even mentioned in the manual, its a green icon with a wheel spinning of some sorts with what looks like dirt being kicked up , well with it not being in the manual i changed to bulb to the door open warning light (much more handy)

Anyone know what this icon means?

Also, does anyone else engine management light come on and stay on until the engine is running? as mine doesn't go out until you start the engine..

Try a search mate, there's a link somewhere to a document on the web showingg what all the dash symbols mean.

As for the speedo, now you've ruled out the gearbox drive, its likely to be the part i mention in this thread:

Traction Control?

Yep, the engine management light stays on until shortly after you start the engine.
