New 406 owner...Sat nav CD , Remote control, Time & Date set

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

New 406 owner...Sat nav CD , Remote control, Time & Date set

Post by ukharper »

Hi, just got a 406 HDi GTX 2002 reg.
Cleaned up the cd multichanger & it works ok, but broke one of the cd cradle things(white flimsy slide in the mag)..where do I get these from?
How do I set the time & date on the display?
Can I get a sat nav copy cd to try in my rear drive unit(I think I may need to do the out & clean thing)...do I need a remote control unit to work the sat nav, or not?
Can I lock the car with the dog inside & not have the alarm go off?(trying ebay for an owner`s manual)
Thanks in advance, Steve. :?:

Date and time - try those little buttons near the screen - you will figure it out.

Alarm - should be a case of pressing in the alarm button for a few seconds till it does something, then when you set it the movement sensors will be disabled; of course you could just use the key to lock the car as this does not set the alarm.
Remember - it only takes a few inches of water to drown a 406 don't make the same mistake I made! The V6 Exec is no more.

8) I'v got a 2.2 GTX Hdi on a 2001 plate. My handbook lists two possible display screen types. On the first type there are two small indented buttons, one on either side of the display screen. Press the left button for two seconds to access the settings. Then press the same button repeatedly to scroll thro the various parameters. When you get to the one you want eg: Time, press the right hand button to apply the settings. Holding this button down will speed up scrolling. Note :!: After 10 seconds without action, the display returns to main screen.

The second type of display screen (which I havn't got on mine) contains similar parameters but is accessed via a remote control.

Hi, thanks for the replies, I am seeking a remote from ebay, plus I plumped for a dealer manual because I can`t get a s/hand one anywhere

An update to finish the thread....
Remote control got-could access the menu`s & settings.

Got a Navtech CD from ebay but still would not read, even after having the unit apart & cleaning.

Got a unit from a used parts dealer......works fine (but a tomtom is better)

Parts were got from NCS Peugeot spares.

Sorted.
