Instrument Warning Light Test

Post by ukharper »

Hi, 2002 406
On my work van all the instrument warning lights come on for a short while with ignition as a lamp test function. Am I wrong in thinking that the 406 doesn`t do this? I ask because I don`t have my side airbag, engine fault, water in fuel or low coolant lamps when I turn on the 2nd ignition position, but the abs, passenger airbag, battery & others do. After starting the car I removed the fuel cap & the warning light came on, so mayby I need to get the binnacle out to take out & replace any bust bulbs? :frown:

The orange engine problem light should come on with ignition... If you're not sure, get a 9 volt battery and a bit of wire. Take each bulb out and hook it up to the battery to test it.
