Or at the very least it'll never look the same again... Scrap that idea then.
Seems to me the sensible option is to leave it running for half an hour. £300 buys a lot of diesel too...

Interesting, though how long do you reckon a 75 watt fan heater will take to warm the interior of my estate up from -15? Maybe just long enough to flatten the battery...

No, it was a great suggestion, for some reason my thick head had thought about a heater and dismissed it, but if I put a timer on my 1kw fan heater for an hour before I need to use the car it should be all nice and defrosted, and it won't cost me all that diesel.
All I need to do now is work out where's a good place to run a cable in without pinching it. Oh, and tell my girlfriend, but I don't think she'll mind 'cos she's the blasted reason I'll be trudging out in the snow at silly o'clock in the morning!
