it`s started already.

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

it`s started already.

hi,my run of bad luck with cars is carrying on with my newly aquired 1999 hdi 110.got in last night to go to work to be greeted by *risk of ice* on the screen, great i thought stick the aircon on and soon be toasty, started the engine and the drivers window went down on it`s own and i could not get it up again until i got to work 15 miles later :x .one of the lads at work messed about with the switch and eventualy got it up so he took the fuse out and now i have rear working windows but both front dont opperate.
now i dont want to put the fuse back in incase the same happens again and it`s lashing it down but it is no fun having windows that dont work.
anyone have any ideas or do i take it to a garage to be parted with my hard earned bearing in mind i only got it on sunday :( .
thanks.

window switch is probably faulty, quite common, switch costs in excess of £150

That's a bit of a bugger.

There's quite a few on ebray, make sure they're the right ones! I'd be tempted to take them to bits but you'd risk having no windows at all.

he he thanks guys,i`ll trawl the breakers and ebay but to be honest in this weather i am not that bothered coz when the a/c`s on it`s great but will have to vistit a multi story car park sooner or later so might need the windows to collect the ticket.apart from that the car is great and the feeling i am getting at the moment is that it will be a keeper which is unusual for me. :)
