CLIMATE CONTROL IN-OP PLEASE HELP

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

CLIMATE CONTROL IN-OP PLEASE HELP

Post by powerslider »

Hi, this is my 1st post on here, hello to you all.

I have a 's' reg 406 2.1 td glx saloon.

the digital climate control has stopped working, nothing is lighting up and i have no fan, heater etc.

i have changed the complete box with a tested working one and still nothong. All the fuses have been checked and appear ok.

Is there something else someone can think of before a visit to a main dealer and lots of £££££ spent just before xmas.

if i put the cars lights on, it iluminates then as it should so i know power is getting there but the display stays off with all other controls.

Many thanks

Paul

Illumination probably just means the positive feed for the lights is getting there. When you say you changed the box, which box do you mean? It sounds like there's no power getting to it if nothing works at all. I'm not sure of anything specific you should be looking for but if you meter test the connectors for power.

Hunch: Ignition switch.
