Remote locking reset query

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Remote locking reset query

Post by Garry »

Howya all?

Have a 2001 406 HDi that the remote locking won't work on.

Battery is fine in the remote.

Tries the reset procedure

http://bba-reman.com/content.aspx?conte ... rol_Module

but still no joy.

Line 8 of that procedure states hold the lock button for 10 secs, is this with the key in the ignition and still turned on (from line 7)

Cheers folks,

Does the led light up when you press the button on the key? If not you can solder on a replacement. Failing that you may need to do a bsi reset :?

There's no light on my key, and I've tried the reset but no joy, that is if I'm doing it right :? :? (see above)

It could be the button on the key; is it a 2 or 1 button key?

2 buttons. Just metered both. All OK. Had a look at the solder joints aswell, SMT components so hard to see but they look OK too. I'm at a loss with this one!!!

Very strange. :?
The buttons went on my key, I managed to get a fine needle tip iron on them to replace them.
