HELP PLEASE

Post by andrew1608 »

I was tryin to intall a phone kit at the weekend, i had to find the mute on the back of the stereo, so i used a tester pen and could not get the stereo to mute from any wire, and in the process the cig lighter will not power up unless the ignition is turned on, it was possible to use this with out the ignition turned on before, but i don't know if i have blown a fuse somewhere.

I'm guessing you had the fag lighter fuse out at some point? :?

The 2 blade fuse for the fag lighter has 3 slots, so you can put the fuse in 2 positions, one is perm live, the other ignition live. Find the fuse and take it out, then put it back in the other position and I'm pretty sure robert will be your father's brother.

I'm sure you'll see what I mean when you start fiddling....

BZZZT! It's fuse 1/1A. I've had to replace it so many times...

Maplins sell nice little packs of fuses which actually LIGHT UP when they're blown! They're fantastic and everyone should have them :)
