Software for OBD

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Software for OBD

Post by Carpman »

I got one of those OBD cables from ebay and have spent most of the day pulling my hair out. The cable works because if I use scan tools then I can get in and see the RPM............ but thats about it!

So I need some different software one that looks good is called PSADiag but god knows how much it is, has anyone been sucessful with the cheap/free OBD software in clearing down DTC? mines a 2001 petrol model.

Thanks for the link, but that software is for a pocket PC, I did try the alternative scantools software for the ELM23 cable earlier, but it didn't work, it does connect but only talks to the rev counter.

I think it's scantool that I use, Seems to work OK, gives readings for quite a lot of the parameters. Haven't had any fault codes since I've had the reader though, so can't coment on the reset.

Whilst on the conversation of ODB. Does anyone know of a cable that works with a D8 2.1 TD LX?

Cheers

The cables are on ebay but the problem comes when trying to find a decent bit of software to work with them, all the software tools are for cars that are OBD2 complient which are supposed to be petrol cars 2001 on, and diesel cars 2004 on.

Mines a 2001 petrol but it still doesn't work f'ing Peugeot
