Auto folding Mirraz ??

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Auto folding Mirraz ??

Post by Welly »

Remembering and taking inspiration from the FTO owners club, and knowing there's some right clever sods on here I wondered if it's possible to frig up the mirrors to fold in/out upon locking/unlocking the doors (how cool is that?).

Well this bit of info should give us some pointers but what do you reckon? ....http://www.vikash.info/fto/auto_mirror/index.asp

It'd be easy on a D8...

On a D9 you'd have to wonder what would happen when the BSI tries to get involved after the mod has moved them. Or just disconnect the motors from the BSI and hope it doesn't enter limp-home mode...

Actually that's a good point. I think the D9 mirrors have the same shaped mount as the D8; I see a project ahead! :cheesy:

It's something I've thought about before, but they didn't make D9s in the same colour as mine, and I think the mirrors are a slightly different shape too so my existing backs won't fit.

I wouldn't go near the wiring on a multiplexed D9 car, the electronics are dodgy enough as they are!
