well found out why the "abs fault" came up on screen and it was due to the ring around the shaft had snapped and was dangling loose so i pinched it together with a pair of grips and welded it to the shaft and sorted warning gone !

Well done but... what ring on what shaft? Do you mean one of the toothed rings on one of the hubs? I thought they were part of the casting!

Don't get me wrong, it's great to have feedback - once more someone triumphs over the French gremlins! and it helps anyone else searching on here with a similar problem.

you may find the ABS could act strangely as the ring on that wheel will be fractionally larger and the ABS module will think (when that wheel locks) that its slowing down slightly faster than it is and will relieve pressure a bit too much, i did the same thing on my old HDi, and whenever the n/s/f wheel went over a wet drain cover when i was braking the car would become unstable sometimes not stop

Seriously? I really did think they were part of the casting. I bet you can buy them separately
