button near elec windows

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Did you try opening the back windows from the switches on the back doors?

No did not think of that just used drivers buttons will give it a try thanks

however this morning i noticed heated rear window switch not lighting up front windscreen ok, as no book will have to go through all fuses and hopefully find one blown.

thought electrics were supposed to be dodgy on alphas - my 406 since saturday light in boot chooses whether to work or not at will, airbag lit up - connection under seat - sorted (for now), sat nav - hopefully only disc problem, cruise doesnt appear to be functioning but maybe i am doing wrong, hehehe

Cruise only works in 4th or 5th gear and only above about 25mph. Other than that make sure it's switched on then press + to set it, not a lot to do wrong.

If it is playing up you might wanna have a look at the pedals, theres a switch on the clutch pedal that very occasionally gives me a problem.

Mine's about 35mph

There's also a switch under the brake pedal for the cruise control, but be VERY careful as there's another one under there, and that operates the brake lights!

Oh that'd bug me, I use mine quite a bit at 30mph to prevent speed creeping up in camera areas

Just spend more time looking at the speedo than the road. You don't get points on your license for crashing...
