aircon fault

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

aircon fault

Post by 406silverhdi »

Hi guys i have a x reg 2000 90bhp rapier d9

My aircon is no longer blowing cold air, the internal blowers work but not pumping out hte nice cold air like normal

When i press the aircon button i can hear the usual click, the front rad fan runs, but no air

the pipes that usually get covered in condensation are not getting covered

Any clues

Its been in my family for 5 years and never regassed could it be that or some electrical problem

Thanks in advance

It's probably low on gas.

My condenser has just blown for the second time (see my thread today) but my compressor still runs! I wouldn't run the a/c now cos you'll stress the compressor and they aren't cheap.

Once theses systems start leaking it can all be over in a few days.

You could just have a quick look at the pollen filter to check it as it might be blocking the airflow (there's a foam piece that can drop down onto it) but I doubt it really.

Oops sorry I forget to mention that if you get hot air , a suspect can be the recuirculating air buton check if the flap opens at the dust filter too, my unit's gears has stripped.
