airbag light keeps comes on and keeps flashing

JUST BOUGHT A 1999 406 LX.ITS A LOVELY CAR NOT A MARK ON IT.THE ONLY FAULT I HAVE IS THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND STARTS FLASHING.ANY ONE EALSE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND CAN IT BE FIXED?

Hello, your capslock key is on. Probably the ecu (under the centre console). Don't mess with it without diconnecting your battery for a while first.

Hi Billy!
The usual culprit is a bad connection in the plug for the seatbelt pre-tensioner. Some people chop off the plug and solder the wires or you can put your own bullet connectors on.
Mine suffers the same but I haven't been arsed to fix it yet

Or you can just carefuly bend the electrical male spikes/blades inside the connector with something plastic so that when you reconnect the connector you get a better connection - works for me on my 1999 model.

It always happens when you move the seat.

I ended up sticking a choc block up on mine underneath the seats and seem to cure straight away the previous owner looked like they had fun they must have used a full roll pvc tape around on each one and its probaly best to do both of them whilst you still in the mood.
