I went this morning to get my tracking adjusted, however after leaving the garage i was driving along around 50ish (country road) and i was getting a big up power up and heard a strange noise from the engine area, next thing the orange light came on within the speedo area and the screen showed a fault and next thing this i have lose power the engine dies and so does the power steerring. I could not get the car off the road so on went the hazard lights. I went under the bonnet and found the fuel chip i have got was not too tight in it's connection, but i disconnected it from the common rail incase it had a fault and i then started the car and found it was in limp home status but i was able tio drive to work and call the AA, The AA have come plugged in the computer and it showed up fuel pressure circuit sensoor PO190 and fuel pump PO230 as the faults, so i have phoned the gargae to book it in for monday. However when i got home i thought i would plug the fuel chip back in and the fault was still showing and then 5 minutes later i went to start the car and go away and now the fault has gone.
Can anyone advise anything for this fault.
I don't think there is a fault with the fuel chip as it's a proper hard wired unit with warranty on it, and the car normally goes really well with it. But i wll still take the car into the garage and see what there computer says.
