Reverse lights not working

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Reverse lights not working

Post by stev6e »

Neither of my reverse lights work and it isn't the filaments. :(

The car is an ex plod covert cid car so I reckon they've been disconnected for stealth purposes.

My guess is they'll have been disconnected at the reverse light switch.

I'm guessing that'll be mounted on the gearbox somewhere, does anyone know exactly where???

Alternatively would they have been disconnected somewhere else??

Very many thanks.

The switch will be sat right on top of the gearbox near a beige bit of plastic. It may well have a purple connector

They might just have taken the fuse out - F32 in the engine fusebox.
(Don't know the rating, but 2 x 21W = 3.5A so a 5A fuse should be fine).

They're hardly ever stealthy. Two guys in rain coats constantly eating? Coppers.

That explains the crumbs that are under every bit of trim/facia I've removed for access so far :D :D

My handbook says Fuse 1 in the engine compartment fuse box that feeds the reversing lights, double injection relay, engine oil temp, oil level, Air conditioning compressor, all of those work, except the lights.

And yes I most definitely missed a golden opportunity to use the :supafrisk: :supafrisk: :supafrisk: :cheesy: :cheesy:
