406 2.1 dt WaterTemp/speedo issues

Hello all
i have just purchased a 1997 406 2.1dt glx , and have a few concerns.
First , speedo is a bit erratic about 15 minutes into a journey, although from previous post i suspect the speedo interface which i will change.
secondly , the water temp only reads 70 and then only after about 20 minutes does is slowly start gaining to about 85,
is this normal.
any helps or ideas would be greatly appreciated

the speedo problem will either be the gearbox sensor but very likely the Bitron box behind the glove box, mine read 0 until you did 70 mph then it woke up. possible blue coolant temp sensor broken or you have a bubble in the coolant so bleed the system properly.
