back wiper repair

just thought I would share what happened .Rear wiper wasnt working so I took, off the tailgate cover looked where the wires enter the tailgate no breaks then dissconnected the blue box which I guess is the relay sprayed it with electrcal cleaning spray connected back up and hey presto wiper works hope this will help some one in future ps what is it with the wiring in these cars :?
1997 406 2.0 petrol estate lx..D8.............OH dear where does this nut go?

Well done for sorting it out, robb.

I don't know that Pugs are really worse than other cars for electrical issues, I've had more trouble with Rovers & Vauxhalls over the years. I think you've just got to keep on top of it, solve each problem as it appears and don't let yourself wind up with a list, at least as far as you reasonably can.

Many of the guys on here firmly believe earlier cars are better - D8's more reliable then D9's, early D9's more reliable than later models with multiplexed wiring etc.

This probably means mine is the ultimate liability, barring possibly an auto version.

Thanks Dogslife its just that most of problems are leccy based hopefully , blown bulbs airbag light ,rear wiper ,found charred connection on heater blowe,r still got to sort noisy aircon but Iw ill try to sort em when the rain stops lol...Rob ps i do like the car nice drive off to The Lakes weekend as Ive only just bought the car It could be a baptism of fire :cheesy:
