Just a curiosity more than anything, my D8 TD sometimes struggles to rev over 3k.
If i keep my foot to the floor it slowly bogs down and won't pick up. When this is happening the engine light comes on.
When i let off the throttle and the revs drop down the light goes out.
I'm wondering if there is a pressure switch to show when you have a blocked filter maybe?
Just that it's happening a lot right now as i've fried my clutch towing a trailer and i need a few revs to go anywhere!

Re: K-light connected to the fuel filter?
That first link looks familiar ;)
Looks like the answer is yes, i went out today and got a mile away from home and the car all but died on me, thankfully i was at the back of the traffic so i could just roll backwards to the side of the road. Popped the bonnet, took out the fuel filter and it started fine with no engine light.
Good job i was on my way down to the workshop to play with my fuel system today!, Tank strainer has a small amount of muck on the inside of it, and i've put an inline filter in the engine bay before the engine filter so it's belt & braces & bailing cord
AND (best part of the day), while stripping the gearbox off a scrapped Xantia (or was it a Xsara?, the one with the top mount IC), i found a virtually brand new Valeo clutch
Just need to sort the droning form one of the wheel bearings and it's back to everything being hunky dory
