Hi guys, 406 2001model LX and the 6 disc changer in boot has just stopped playing c.ds totally. Won't play either originals or copies whereas before all was ok save for the customary skipping on copied disks. When try switch over to c.d layer from radio (which is working fine) i just says searching disc 1 right through to 6 and then back to one and goes through the same process again and never plays at all.
Tried switching it off and on and reloading the disk magazine but no change
What could be causing this and is it easy to take out the unit from the boot

Chances are the laser lens is just filthy. To clean it you'll need to take it apart and hit it with a cotton bud. Thankfully it's easy to remove from the car - just pull the whole unit upwards and out of the cradle, being careful not to stress the connector on the bottom too much

Thanks so do i just pull it out, had tried but felt securely held in place and had been wondering how does it come out
And for putting back in, does it just slot back in place
