Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Headlight retrofit-xenon low/halogen high beam-Led position

Post by Voltron »

Hello from Turkey. :)

I completed my new headlight retrofit.

Used Hella D2S low beam ECE projectors, Hella high beam ECE projectors, Hella LED position lights (5600K). 8)

Hella modules, tools etc.

Fixed all modules into headlight. Changed low beam position module to inner side because high beam module is bigger and it didn't fit same reflector.

Merged right headlight for test.

I tested and it's OK. I painted reflector with my 406's same color (blue).

I painted bezel with same color but not completely, because I don't want to reduce signal lights performance.

This is a special project. You can use xenon projectors from used bmw/merc/audi headlights. They are so cheap. Or you can design your own led lights it's not hard to make.

Brilliant work Voltron (as usual) - looks very clean and sharp 8)

You must have the patience of a saint fiddling with all those little fixings in such a small space.

Both of modules are ECE permitted. (also there are RHD/LHD options)

i admire your work and skill
but theres no way i could justifie the cost for such a small gain[i mean how often do you use headlights?]
and for that price i could get a spare 406
