front fog lights

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Wiring is all there. You need:

Front fog lights (duh)
A new light stalk (the one on the left) with a front fog light switch - £10 from eBay
A 5-pin relay to go under the drivers dash

Front fog lights are a bit of a pain to fit as it's generally a front bumper off job. Time consuming but not difficult. Also, make sure all that bracketry/springs/fittings come with the fog lights. I had to improvise the fitting as I just got the lights themselves without fittings.

Fitted fogs to my D8 saloon without removing the bumper. Pain in the arse though, may have been easier to whip the bumper off after all. Got a relay and stalk from the scrappers. What I haven't been able to locate is a stalk with front fog switch and a horn. All the cars with fogs down the scraps have horns on their steering wheels.

Thus at the moment I've got the stalk with fog switch off and the old one back on. So no front fog functionality, but I need to be able to parp at the brainless morons that are Southampton motorists.

Depends if early D9s have the old slotted grille. I dunno. Not too bothered at the mo, I've only actually had to use the fogs one since installing them. The horn, meanwhile, is a necessity 'round these parts :|
