I've got a D9 406 - 2003, HDI 110. It occasionally brings up "Anti pollution system problem" or similar on the dash, and illuminates the engine check lamp.
This then goes off after a while. The car runs fine, but is only returning around 41 to the gallon.
Anyway, I want to sell the car, and nobody's going to buy a car that's claiming to have something wrong with it. So, what do I do about getting fault codes read?
Does the average garage have the gear to deal with a multiplexed car? Do new parts need to be coded to the car like some BMWs? Or can I swap and change what I like?

Easy to sort, look on ebay for an obd diagnostic set, that connects your laptop to the car.
You'll be able to read and more importantly clear any fault codes through your cars OBD socket. Plus it'll work with most other modern cars that have an OBD socket.
Mine cost about £25, spurious warning lights are no longer a problem.
