main fuse box

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

The fusebox is on the first page of the wiring diagrams, however they fiddled with a lot of stuff around the end of 1999, including in some cases putting the fusebox in upside down

I strongly suggest taking a photo and putting it up here so we can identify it

According to the info I have, for your model 99 on, the fuse you require is inside the car in the fusebox under the dash, my info states it is either F2 or F40.

F27 under the bonnet is listed as engine control module.

This is for engine code XU10J4R (RFV). 406 2.0 1995-02.

Hi
thanks for replies
Although the fuse box in the dash is listed on the first page of the Haynes manual (blower = fuse 40) the feed to that fuse comes from
fuse No 13 in the main fuse box next to the battery (via the ignition switch). It is the main fuse box layout that is not shown in the manual, however tests now prove that it is the ignition switch at fault.
Thanks again for your help
