After market remote locking?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

After market remote locking?

Post by swiss »

OK, so my remote locking hasn't worked since, well, it never really worked very well at all. As I have said before, I suspect the battery wore down and the key and/or car forgot its coding. Anyway, Pug will obviously make me pay dearly for the privilege of having it fixed but today I found this. Anybody had any experience?

Our fobs are always stylish and original, guaranteed to satisfy.
Wow! how can you resist? :)

Fing is swissy, they only show the Fob bit whereas I'd have thought you'd need another 'unit' at the lock position to effectively work the lock on your behalf? :?

*Edit, scrub that I've just looked at them properly

Looks ok to me I s'pose

Can't you just rip the receiver out of one in the scrappies, along with its associated fobs?

Tried putting new batteries in and doing a re-sync?

If you're ever up my neck of the woods, giz a shout and I'll see what I can do with my magic PP2000 box of tricks

Well, my local scrappers does just chuck all its keys in to boxes organised solely by manufacturer... but I suppose I could give it ago. I'd want the brown unit from under the glove box, right?

I have tried the various re-synch methods described around the forums, no joy :(

Oh yeah, while I'm rambling on and on would a Xantia spoiler fit my bucket? I've only been able to find lip spoilers, the basic 406 one which is too low for my liking and various Evo ones which would make me look 17/dumb/both.

Oh, and final question (possibly) - from where does one get a new boot badge for the saloon? Scrapper ones are crappier than mine and Fleabay only had coop/estate versions... would Pug charge me an arm and a leg for a new 'un?

Badges are an incredible 50 quid odd from Pug. Hold on,
15 8726 C1 BADGE - COUPE 2 DOORS
15 8726 C1 BADGE - 4 DOOR SALOON

Oh!!

If you need it the weatherstrip/seal is under a tenner.

What, the rubber seal around the boot? No, mine's fine, thanks. Only the expensive bits need replacing. Lucky for Messrs Puegeot, I suppose.
