indicator problem again

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

D8, non-multiplexed D9, or D9 with COM2000?
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

The fuse layouts seem to vary from car to car, so Haynes probably gave up :frown: Indicators take an ignition feed while hazards take it direct from the battery, so if they're fused at all it'll be separate. Without someone coming up with a D8 handbook of the same year (which has a chance of being right - c'mon guys!) your only alternative is to check all the fuses I'm afraid. Fuse->connections to the hazard switch->switch itself->wiring. If you've got a multimeter (if not they cost less than a tenner and take an amazing amount of guesswork out of life) you could see if there's a permanent live going to the hazard switch for a kick off. If not it's fuse hunting time, if yes then suspect the switch itself.

update on problem the old stalk was blowing the fuse which was fuse number 15 in the fusebox in the drivers side 15 amp fuse for future reference for other people . The hazards must work on a different fuse or as suggested no fuse at all .PS if anyone takes off the steering column shroud when refitting put the screw nearest the foot pedals in first it will save a lot of effing and jeffing  .....Rob
