Hi guys
just signed up,cracking site
Anyway as the post heading suggests im having bother with the immobiliser its a 97 406 td.
Went to it sunday and it failed to start, half hour later it started but then later failed again and wont start since.
The red and green light stay on the key pad.
Im wondering if there is anyone around the doncaster area can bypass the immobiliser before i stab it to death.
Engine cranks over,so i think immobiliser must just control stop solenoid?.
Cheers
Col

If you can get the car started, then it's simply a case of unplugging the connector from the back/top of the keypad. Job jobbed, and I've done this on my D8.
Re: 406 td immobiliser grrrrrrrr
it tells you in the user manual how to dis-arm
Re: 406 td immobiliser grrrrrrrr
Yep i know how to disarm thats the point it will not disarm.
Shame its a nice car,can always scrap it.

I have bypassed a few of these in the past and the number pad corresponds with a control box on the back of the fuel pump. You need to change the fuel cut off solenoid on the pump for the older type with just the live terminal on the top and run a live to it from a live ignition wire in the harness that supplies the imobiliser, there all black but a test light will show you which is live when the key is on. Then you can just get rid of all the imobiliser and enjoy the car..
