auto lights feature no longer works since installing stereo

Hi all,

since I replaced my standard Peugeot stereo at the weekend with aftermarket unit my auto headlights feature has stopped working. The lights still work if I turn them on manually. Any thoughts? I wondered if it could be the red and yellow wires on the stereo (permanent and accessory?) being connected wrong? The stereo doesn't turn on if the key isn't in the ignition BUT does stay on after the car has been running, turned off and the key removed.

More likely you've disturbed something, (or even turned the auto off on the stalk)? Have you tried turning it back on?

If you'd mixed up the permanent & switched feeds, (assuming your head unit is set up to use both), it'd forget all the stations every time you turn it off.

The couple of 406's I've tried, it turns off when you turn the key off, but you can turn it on without the key.....

Hi cheers for the thoughts. I wondered if I maybe disturbed something as I had to get my hand right in at the back to pull the stereo wires through to make it sit in the cage properly.

How would I turn the auto back on if I'd turned it off at the stalk?

Press the button on the end & hold for 5 seconds.....

(It may then make a strangely familiar chiming noise).

Cheers will give that a go, failing that I'll try and check around the back of the stereo but I dread removing it as it was a pain to fit. Or I may just leave it and turn the dial myself ;)

Make sure you haven't got anything connected to the VAN bus lines on the ISO connector
