Re: show me your reversing sensors
Please tell me they are for somebody else?
the d9 estate has to be the easiest car in the world to park up or reverse,
the back window is at the back of the car

Re: show me your reversing sensors
ahh i see now, thats not so bad then
sadly i dont have any or any pics for you,
but there is plenty about on the web,
cant see it being much of a job though, its not like the D9 has the most complicated back end,
what type you going for? the ones with lights and beepers mounted up on the dash or just the sounder mounted in the boot?

just the beeper tucked away in the boot
fitted loads before for friends, but would like the oem look, just wanted to see if people have managed to make them look factory fit

Re: show me your reversing sensors
I stand to be corrected here but I don't think a single 406 left the factory with reversing sensors as an option. In fact, up until recent years most other cars were kitted out with sensors at the dealers not the factory.

Re: show me your reversing sensors
There was someone who fitted them to his estate, he put them in the black strip, tidy job too IIRC. I was quite keen at the time but never bothered... Here's the thread but the photos are missing

Re: show me your reversing sensors
In the 406 coupe brochure, they offer an 'invisible' reversing aid, which is basically a metallic strip that sits behind the bumper, so nothing visible from outside.
BUT, they are total rubbish. i bought it for mine, and shile testing it, I reversed into a lampost (no damage luckily). Then a week later, someone rear ended me, so there ends that story.

Re: show me your reversing sensors
put mine in the plastic trim on the back theres just enough room for the sensers without haveing to take the bumper off
Re: show me your reversing sensors
forgive me adding to an already old thread, but for the benefit of future readers; I have fitted these just below the black strip on both of the estates I have had.
I use these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330340144598 (the colour match on metallic red and silver has been perfect) and ask them to stick in 4 extra shims which brings the angle close enough to vertical.
No need to remove the bumper, just mark up, drill and then poke a hole in the polystyrene at the back for the cable to go through before feeding it into the boot though one of the pre-existing grommets.

Looks OK that - (guess I could spray them moonstone blue, than not laquer them, to match the fuel filler flap).

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

hope the sensors and the alarm system is calibrated considering the length of the tow bar hooks, else when the alarm screams it could be too late
