Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Just don't pull the pedals up to hard, or you can shift the switches, creating the problem that you are looking for. The switches on the brake pedal (two, one for brake lights, one for cruise) are just out of sight behind the steering column, above the pedal.

Manual says they screw adjust but mine were just a kind of friction fit. The switch body was ribbed (ooer!) and had a collar that fitted in the bracket.

There's two separate switches - one for cruide and the other for lights
and i dont believe my car is drive by wire because there is a cable coming into the engine (im not much of a mechanic so forgive the terms here) it sits on a rocker and when it pulls this the engine revs more, and if i push the thing it pulls i can rev the car while not in it.
Yeah, but that rocker is just the throttle pot, and ain't attached to the engine... Dunno why they didn't just slap the pot on the pedal like other manufacturers do instead of having a cable trailing through half the car
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

You mean like what Toyotas have

Makes it easier to operate the throttle from under the bonnet though :cheesy:
