Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

(COM2000 equiped D9's need a real prod to work - at least on saloon / estate models).
I tried pressing really hard, on either side - no dice.

According to the handbook (thanks for the link Steve!), when you press the keyfob to switch from deadlocked to normal locking, the lights flash (which they do), and the horn gives a brief sound (which it doesn't).

Therefore, the horn (or its fuse, or its wiring) is at fault. I haven't been able to tell which yet, on account of the temperature dropping to a painful -9 degrees Celsius, and the snowfall being pretty relentless all day long. It has snowed heavily here every day for the last 9 days, and is set to get even bloody colder (supposedly -15 overnight tonight)

i have a triple airhorn on my disco(factory fit), but every time i take it off road one or more horns become clogged with mud, or in this weather snow and you get all the air headed down the horns or horn that is still clear, its bizarre some days i get a very very loud high pitched scream others a low booming truck like horn and on the odd day all three are clear at the same time, a proper decent sound from all three working as they should buts its a lottery each time i press the horn which one im gonna get, if any

I like the old lancia/italian horns they are very high pitced but make quite a nice noise, a good example is in the godfather 3.
