Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

On my car, it was F4 in the engine fusebox - but it can vary, (it was F14 on mjb's V-reg coupe). If all esle fails, cehck all the 10A fuses.
Mr Doggy
uncommonly polite :o

Did it say something like FUSE No 4* "Engine Control Unit and Automatic Gearbox"?

thanks!

No - I'm 99% certain it feeds the diagnostic socket only.

Everything else, on both our cars, was working correctly with the diagnostic socket supply fuse gone.

I worked on a car today, got £20 and a cup of tea just for reading the fault codes.

Only 2 months since the last post so not the oldest thread I've resurrected...

Sooooooooooooooooo, I want one of these, they seem to be gradually getting cheaper so I'm starting to look at the idea seriously. However, I've no idea what I'm doing - I presume they're more or less the same thing but I'm not 100% on that, and I've no idea what leads I'll need, some have 4, some have 6, some don't even say...

Come on, words of advice, encouragement, warning, derision?

This good enough? http://www.duduta.com/buy-car-electroni ... 4line.html 82 quid delivered to here :? (Then I'll have to see how much gold customs thinks it contains  )

A Quick Overview of Buying...
PP2000/Lexia-3 Interface works for both Citreon and Peugeot. It compatible with most of Citreon and Peugeot cars from 1995.But not good for Peugeot 307 and Citreon C5.It support read identification, read fault codes, clear fault codes,auto-scan etc.Have multiple language for choose.PP2000/LEXIA-3 Interface works for both Citreon and Peugeot!

Saw that in the information of that interface, and i don't recommend you, buying it, if it won't work well with 307 and c5 then almost 70% chance is that it won't work with 406.

So they're all the same, or they're not all the same, or, errr, perhaps the money would be better put towards a new lawnmower :(
