Does anyone know for certian whether the Snap-On gadget will definetly talk to an HDi - not many things will?

Dogslife you mention that the snap on tool may not communicate with the HDi?

Ok, they're both 10a.
No idea, if not had to plug in to my Pug yet (something I need to check I guess) but I do believe they're not very friendly.

That's what I did - got one of these
Not cheap, but I reckon I've saved what it cost me easily by now, not to mention peace of mind.
There's about 5 or 6 forum members with one of these now - if you add your location, someone nearby might help.

I just went outside to reconnect the battery and saw that their was a lose connection just below the battery as picture below is the answer for the engine management light, air pollution active being on?
Also my central locking is not working after I disconnected the battery.

check the main earth points from the battery, follow the neg wire,
d8s are usually under the battery try
d9s at the side of the fuse box

follow the neg wire that connects to the battery ...
take the battery back off and follow it and check were it connects to the body ,,,

Okay I'm not a mechanic but love a bit of a challenge so I will take the battery off and have a poke around to see where it goes.
Wish me luck and if someone knows where it pacifically goes then I would appreciate your input.

a pp2000 will talk to a hdi.

My car seems to have the a connector in the same area - I have a plug & socket wiring from one disappears under the headlight, below the dip beam bulb area. Wiring from the othe half of the connector goes through to the radiator / condenser. I tried disconnecting it to see what doesn't work:
It's not the foglights, doesn't seem to be the horns, wiring's too small to be the radiator fan.
Mine had a green/yellow wire plus probably a white one - I couldn't make out numbers on either.

Problem solved
Finally the dreaded engine management and air pollution fault have finally gone, the plug that connects to the denso thing was loose and I put it back on and when I started the car it was still on so I set off to go to the garage and when I travelled down the road it went off.
Well chuffed just need to get the remote fob working
