Run lock kit

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Ive done it on clios though with no problems, just cut and solder one pair of wires at a time with the battery out.

Taking the battery out and waiting for a while is the best safety precaution, at the time i wasnt very careful still doing it with the battery in, god knows how it didnt explode.

See I did toy with the idea of soldering but then that makes a solid connection and you can't then remove it.. Do you know how to disconnect those connectors and feed fresh wire back into them?

The oil is fine, dipstick is reading 100% and the car doesnt use a drop, its just the oil level indicator feels insecure and actually wants to be a spirit level :cheesy:

There are wee metal crimp connections inside the plug, if you had a small enough screwdriver or pick they could possibly be removed, then youd need to get replacement crimp connectors of that size

If your looking to make removable connections as i did when installing the LED lights in the mirrors then Tamiya connectors are good, although they could go loose as with any sort of connector

They look good.... would they be suitable for the air bag electrics? Not seen those before... Got some spade crimp connectors, but they are a pain in the ass to fit........ they will NOT fit flush together......... and I now give up.....
Can these Tamiya connectors work lose MORE THAN any other connectors?

I will try picking these out as I would quite like to re-use these........... I will message you if I get stuck, you seem to know what you're doing with electrics

Ive used them for any of the extra LED footlights that ive installed, there is one connector for the passenger footwell which is a bit loose and there is no light but the rest are working fine.
Bear in mind that although the metal bit can be just crimped into place i soldered all the wires on and used heat shrink so they shouldnt give trouble. For extra peace of mind i suppose i could get a thick glue and glue the wires into the connectors so they cant move themselves loose.

The crimp connectors work ok if you use a proper ratchet crimp connector and the wire is the right size for the connector.

Although for under the seat since its never come out of place i dont min the solder connection, if in the rare event i need to remove the seat it wouldnt be too hard to cut the wires and resolder them when done.

Must admit I was going to solder but it turns out my soldering technique is pretty shocking
Then I reverted to keeping some kind of connection in there... it's only one connection I have to do on the passengers side...... not sure how to tackle the drivers side yet....... :)
