Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

ISTR the Haynes puts it as 5 spanners with just the text "you'll destroy the seat if you try" or similar.
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Or at the very least it'll never look the same again... Scrap that idea then.

Seems to me the sensible option is to leave it running for half an hour. £300 buys a lot of diesel too...

I just wish some mug, sorry, intelligent customer would buy my D8.

Interesting, though how long do you reckon a 75 watt fan heater will take to warm the interior of my estate up from -15? Maybe just long enough to flatten the battery...

Maybe more like this

No, it was a great suggestion, for some reason my thick head had thought about a heater and dismissed it, but if I put a timer on my 1kw fan heater for an hour before I need to use the car it should be all nice and defrosted, and it won't cost me all that diesel.

All I need to do now is work out where's a good place to run a cable in without pinching it. Oh, and tell my girlfriend, but I don't think she'll mind 'cos she's the blasted reason I'll be trudging out in the snow at silly o'clock in the morning! :cheesy:
