Flashing Interior cabin lights ...

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

I have a D8 2.1 estate and also get very occaisionally get the disco lights..... only after a few very cold/frosty nights. Was it a frosty morning? I think its the tailgate switch which causes this as it only does it on cold frosty days and when I open the tail gate. Once the interior is warm or day has warmed up.. no problems If I dont open the tail.. again no problems.

I dunno about yours but my D8 2,1 estates' tailgate light has nothing to do with the cabin lights :?

Are you on about the cabin lights or the boot light? The tailgate switch (crazily located near the top) only operates the boot light, but on mine it only switches on right at the top of travel. If it's cold the struts on the tailgate might need a little extra effort to open up properly possibly causing your problem... or the switch itself could be sticking. that's more likely i think :)
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Aye you'd think so but the flashin interiors only occur if I open the tail gate after a few very cold days. If I leave it alone and dont open .. no flashers :D

Damm & Blast and other unprintable words - I can't believe it! (Victor must drive a pug!)

Now my drivers door lock refuses to work - it won't open or lock with the key, the whole key actually goes round and round (and the remote STILL isn't working in spite of my re-programming efforts as instructed/advised in previous posts, {thanks but sorry})

All these things MUST be connected or at least related!

The central locking works OK from the passenger side and, guess wot - The lights don't flash anymore......

Ho Ho, Fuc...Ho - Merry Pug Christmas

The roudy roundy thing is actually a design feature to stop it being opened with a screwdriver, all it means is your lock's gummed up and is no longer friends with your key. Liberally apply some WD40 and give it a few tries.

And don't turn the thing upside down and pull key out

Ps Victor drove a crimson Avenger :cheesy:

Sorry to bring back someones thread, but after doing a search this seems like the best place to ask the question?

I drive a 1999 Pug 406 2.0HDI Exec, and as of 5pm it is saying that the drivers door is open even when it is closed, it still locks which means the door is closed however i believe the sensor may need sorting? any ideas, it did the flashing lights bit when it indicated the door was open/closed/open.

I have the computer display which says its the drivers door. how can i reslove this, as my car has door lights these are on whilst driving?

Please help :)
