Inside the COM2000 - a "How Not To"

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Holy thread resurrection!

3D printed by the looks of it surprised there is a big enough market to make it worth the bother.

Well Steve,
I followed your How to & this How Not To, Today as I have had a none functioning horn since I bought the car back in April  .
Yes I've been putting it off for that long (cue lot's of ring clenching  ) , So today had a bash at it due to mot looming :supafrisk: .
I also thought I'd have a go at the COM 2000.
As also as long as I've had it I've had flopy stalk sydrome :supafrisk: ,with the usual right to left when canceling prob's  .
Well I can report that IT WORKS & very well :cheesy: .
It was a pig of a job to do the COM 2000 but well worth it, I will post up the pic's & info I have gained later on as I'm of for a beer now, But it can tell you all that it's worth doing as I've just prolonged the life of mine by at least two years I guess & also prolonged having to shell out £150.00 8) .
I also have a fully functioning horn :cheesy:
So Steve thanks a lot mate, your post's on this subject proved invaluble :)

For what it's worth, I know it's an old thread resurructed but when I worked on motors for a living, it was quite a common 'fault' on a variety of cars. Track alignment being done by only adjusting one side, then refitting the steering wheel to centre it. Throws the whole self-cancelling gizmos out of synch. Worth a look?

I know what you're talking about (the Ackerman angles are up the creek too) but this seems to be down to a part in the switch wearing out and being extremely expensive to replace as PSA only sell the whole thing.
