Crusie control - again!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Crusie control - again!

Post by dcox1111 »

Can anybody tell me what I'm looking for to check if my 406 Est (2000) is ready to accept cruise control?

There is a fair amount of internet chatter that suggests it probaly is - just needs the stalk and the BSI/ECU reprogramming. They seem to suggest that there needs to be a brake and clutch switch - where and what am I looking for? :?

Has anybody attempted this?

Hi,

D8 cruise control is controlled by a d8 CC stalk, a master on/off switch, a CC control unit and the ECU. D9 cruise control is controlled with a d9 CC stalk (has on/off built onto it) in the ECU and BSI.

I have an early d9 and acquired all the bits for cruise control (stalk, master on/off switch, brake and clutch switches and control unit) and managed to get pug to activate it in the ECU for free. Problem is because mine is an early d9 it still has some but not all d8 wiring and there's no multi-plug for the control box :(

Hope this is of some help,
Sean

Hi, Sean - What flavour 406 have you got?
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
