What a load of sh!te! You can change the bulbs and I've got LED ones in mine, but they're the cheap LED's and keep flickering so I'm either gonna swap back to standard bulbs or invest some extra money in better quality LED's.

think i will have a look after dinner. does steering wheel need to come off before i can remove the clocks
Re: clocks in the dark
No, drop down steering column to give you more room.
There is an access panel to the side of dash, when door is open - take cover off and there is a torx drive that needs undoing.
3 more torx drives in cowling to come out around the top. Then cowling will come off.
Think it's 2 more torx to remove clocks.
I'm sure someone will correct me

Re: clocks in the dark
I was playing in my dash board yesterday. I only undid the three at the top of the trim and the ones holding the dials in. Didn't touch an access panel. I did have some trouble getting the trim out though.
Also, while in there I found that all I needed was a bulb to 'enable' the door open warning light. I also may try a bulb in the "brake" warning light, it comes on, but I don't know if the pads need changing or if it defaults to on when not equipped.
