Making "AUTO" window circuit for the passenger side?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Making "AUTO" window circuit for the passenger side?

Post by StevieboyTD »

I've got a couple of sets of switches and access to another car to strip any bits out of.

What do i need to make the passenger side run as an "auto" system, the same way the drivers side does?

(need to get any bits off this car soon, it's getting squashed in a week or so!)

Not sure about this, the driver's side switch has two sets of contacts, so you'll have to see if you can graft another driver's switch onto the passenger one (you couldn't do this to a D9 one anyway). There's also a control unit incorporated into the driver's side motor, so you'll have to see if one can be fitted to the passenger motor. It also has a few more wires than the passenger one so you'll need to feed some more wires into the door.

You'd need the anti-pinch to be set up too. That can be really really tricky. Best is to get the motor on the drivers side and everything except the bare regulator rails from the donor car and also get another drivers switch. Actually get two (there are two passenger window switches)

I've had experiences of installing window regs with the anti-pinch. Its not a fun job.
