Battery query

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Battery query

Post by johnboy »

Hi,

I need to disconect my battery to replace the EGR and indicator stalk, can anyone tell me the chances of the alarm going off when i take of the terminal? or how to disable it?
Also will anything be reset by doing this? i.e will my remote keys work etc??

Im slightly worried about doing this in case something goes wrong and cant afford to keep spending out ££££'s.

thanks

I've no idea about alarms on these, sorry, but leaving the car to stand for a while before disconnecting the battery seems like it might help.

Just got hold of the owners manual and for anyone else doing the same job it says turn on the ignition and hold down the alarm button till it flashes a few times, then its dissarmed and safe to remove the battery apparently? :?
