Deadlocking :|

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Deadlocking :|

Post by fattail95 »

Hi there guys!

There are two buttons on the keys of my car, one is lock/unlock, and the other is deadlock/alarm. I know you press the lock button and the little button to deadlock it, but how do you unlock it once it is deadlocked?

Thanks!

Just press the big button and it will de-deadlock/unlock at the same time :)

For arguments sake you locked your car without deadlocking, I could come up, smash your window, and open your car by pulling the interior door handle

If you deadlock the car, if I smashed a window, and tried to operate the interior door handle it wouldn't work.

Makes it less attractive to the low life in nicking your car

Does it also activate the immobiliser? So that he cannot hotwire the car?

its impossible nowadays to hotwire the car that have immobiliser installed as part of the security system mate.it will just crank and the engine wont turn over provided the thief is lucky enough :D

It will on the Exec's, I'm not sure about the other trims.

No, it's the level below. I don't know for a fact that it's only the exec, why don't you try it and see! I've got a feeling that total closure on deadlocking was something to do with the alarm fitted to the execs but don't quote me.
