1999 D9 1.8 petrol.
I have central locking with the two button key fob with led. The switch for the big button fell off a year ago, so I bought a new one and soldered it on. All good, but over the past year it kept falling off, so I kept soldering it back on and basically this last time, was the last straw. The heat has taken its toll and I cant get a good solder now on the old circuit board. So, I have bought a new key off ebay and taken the electronic innards out and put them in my key. The key works great starting and unlocking the car manually using the locks, but I cant seem to reprogramme the central locking.
In the manual it says, press the big button until the led stops flashing and stay on, then do the two buttons, ignition on, blah blah. The problem I have is the led's never stop flashing on the key!
Is there another way to reprogramme them at all? Can a new circuit board be reprogrammed, or is this a no no?
Thanks for your help.

Your local Peugeot dealer will sort this for you, then hold you upside down by the ankles and shake until all the money falls out of your pockets

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping that wouldn't be the case. I got frustrated last night trying to get the thing working, so got the soldering iron out again and managed to get the old key fixed. Not sure how long it will last, looks like I used a welding torch on it!!
Thankfully it is working in the new keys case so feels and looks good!
Now I have the old key working, is there any way to program the new key from the old one at all?
