I didnt know it did that
I cleared all the stuff that can hit me in the head, and drove the car up the road to 60, checked there wasnt anything behind to test the brakes, did the emergency stop and the hazzard lights come on, and i repeated this a few times it really does switch them on automatically, and i recall a vw owner trying to play that card over my car but that was on a 08 jetta, peugeot was doing this back in 2002. But the main question is why does the hazzards come on surely the brake lights are enough

To indicate that you're not just braking slowly, but absolutely slamming the anchors on? Probably some stupid EU safety feature.

Re: I didnt know it did that
the lights not switching off is an EU ruling, all cars manufactured after 2011 i think must have permanent DRL (daylight running lights)
we have already over here, you must always have your lights on. no matter the time of day or conditions, just glad i no longer have the pug as that would have eaten bulbs what with the bumpy road conditions and constant usage.
It does make a difference though, you can see the loonies coming from a good distance now

As far as I'm aware it's only on cars with a COM2000. Earlier D9s don't have the option, despite still having the indicators controlled by the BSIdogslife wrote:It's selectable via PP2000 too
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Re: I didnt know it did that
is the pp2000 a computer interface machine, does it allow them options to be selected and would it reset an airbag light and do general fault code reading, how much is one?

Yes, it's Pug/Citroen/PSA's own and it does everyfink. I think it was something like 400 quid last time someone enquired.

right, its not an essential item on the shopping list, but good to know, theres a tax disk to get, and i also had to get the dog fixed up at the vet which aint cheap, peugeot dealers seem cheap compared to these places.

There's an unwritten rule on this forum that one must post a picture of one's dog once one has mentioned one, what what.

Re: I didnt know it did that
so i have got the bsi rule, and now this dog rule, this collection of unwritten rules sounds interesting.
I think there is a pic of my dog sitting in the boot, but heres one just to be sure the rule isnt broken:

It appears you may have infringed the 'Failing to ensure your dog can't become part of the unguarded machinery behind him', rule.
Nice doggy.

Re: I didnt know it did that
that dog is actually smart around machinery spends most of his time on the back of that orange forklift or the caterpillar one, although after his tail caught fire from sitting on the exhaust the toyota is usually the one he is on.
