Blower full on.

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Blower full on.

Post by bangernom1cs »

HI,
Sat with the engine on tickover and the heater blower fan went from position 2 to full blast. The display is working showing all the speeds available and all of the functions such as the HRW and aircon buttons etc work as do the ventilation directional controls.

Ive left the battery off overnight and all has cracked back into action with no probs except for this fan still on full power.
All the fuses seem to be ok too.
Any ideas guys please? the noise is driving me mad!

I think this happens when the speed controller unit burns out and defaults to full speed. I think it a kinda box-o-tricks near or on the fan assembly itself?

HI,
Thanks for the help welly....spot on!
I got a control box from a local scrappy.
If anybody is going to do the same make sure that all the wiring connectors are matching in colour with your cars own.
I'd been given a box with black plugs whereas mine were green. The plugs differ slightly so wont fit.
Changed over to correct colour and all working fine now.
Incidentally the car it came off was an Executive with full cream leather interior in good nick if anyone was after it?
